Expertly created working drawings from seasoned architectural professionals
Working drawings are an essential stage in transforming your approved design into a build-ready project, and with CK Architectural, we make sure they are clear, accurate and fit for construction.
Our architectural team are experts in producing detailed working drawings for all types of residential projects, from house extensions and internal alterations through to garage conversions and new layouts. These drawings are created specifically to guide builders, engineers and building control, ensuring everyone is working from the same precise information.
Our purpose-built working drawings are created with your project requirements, budget and buildability in mind. We work with you as well as for you to make sure the drawings reflect exactly what has been approved, while applying our decades of architectural experience to ensure the design is practical, compliant and cost-effective to construct, without unnecessary complexity or expense.

Design coordination within working drawings
Once the overall design has been approved, the focus shifts to technical coordination and construction detailing.
Key considerations at this stage include structure, insulation, drainage, fire safety, ventilation, materials, levels and build sequencing. Every detail matters, as working drawings are the primary reference point during construction and inspections.
We carefully coordinate all aspects of the design to ensure it complies with building regulations, works structurally, and can be built efficiently on site. If anything needs refining to improve buildability or cost control, we’ll guide you through those decisions using our practical experience.
Planning Permission
If your project has required planning permission, working drawings are prepared in line with the approved planning drawings and conditions. This ensures consistency between what has been approved by the local authority and what is issued for construction.
For projects completed under Permitted Development, working drawings still play a crucial role in ensuring the design complies fully with regulations and can be signed off by building control.
If planning conditions require specific details or amendments, we can incorporate these into the working drawing package and liaise where necessary to keep the project moving forward.
Building Regulations
The final approval stage before construction begins is building control. Your working drawings form the backbone of this process and are used to demonstrate compliance with building regulations.
This typically includes:
- Building control approval
- Full approved plans
- Building regulation drawings
- Site inspections during construction
We can manage this process for you, liaising with building control officers or approved inspectors to ensure there are no delays, misunderstandings or compliance issues.
Once approved, your working drawings can be issued to builders to obtain accurate quotations before work begins on site.
Building using working drawings
Finally, the construction phase begins. Your builder will use the working drawings as their primary reference throughout the build, ensuring the project is delivered as designed and approved.
You’ll need to appoint a builder, agree on quotations, timescales and scope of works, and formalise contracts before work starts.
CK Architectural also offers project management services, allowing us to oversee the build process on your behalf. This ensures the working drawings are followed correctly, quality standards are maintained, and issues are resolved quickly without unnecessary stress or cost.
